Who we are
This website is operated by WIRL Engineering (“WIRL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an Ontario licensed engineering firm. For privacy questions, contact us at info@wirleng.ca.
What we collect
We do not operate accounts, e‑commerce checkout, or marketing lead lists on this website. The only routine collection of personal information happens when you voluntarily submit the contact form.
That form may include:
- Identity and contact details: name, email address, and optional company or organization name.
- Project context: industry or application, project stage, deployment environment, target timeline, budget range, and the free‑text message you provide.
- Security signals: when you submit the form, Google reCAPTCHA v3 processes technical data (for example, an assessment score and related telemetry) to help detect automated abuse. You do not see a challenge widget for this version of reCAPTCHA.
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may also generate standard server logs (for example, IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamps) needed to operate the site securely and diagnose errors.
Why we use this information
- To read and respond to your inquiry and to follow up about engineering services where appropriate.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website, including fraud prevention and spam protection.
- To meet legal, regulatory, or professional obligations that apply to WIRL Engineering.
Legal bases (summary)
Canadian privacy law generally requires a fair and lawful purpose for collection. Where you submit the contact form, we rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries and operating a secure public website. You may withdraw consent for non‑essential processing where applicable by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits.
Who receives your information
We use service providers that process data on our behalf and only as needed to deliver the website and contact workflow:
- Email delivery (Resend): contact submissions are transmitted through Resend’s email API so they can be delivered to our team inbox. Resend processes the content of the message and related email metadata as part of that service. See Resend’s privacy documentation at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Abuse prevention (Google reCAPTCHA): Google processes certain data when the contact form runs reCAPTCHA. See Google’s terms and privacy materials at policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/terms.
- Website hosting: our hosting provider stores and serves site files and may process technical logs as part of running the infrastructure.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the contact form submissions to build advertising profiles, and we do not share form contents with data brokers.
Retention
Contact inquiries are retained for as long as needed to respond, manage the prospective engagement, and maintain reasonable business records (including professional, tax, and accounting requirements). Server logs are kept for a limited period consistent with security monitoring and troubleshooting, then rotated or deleted according to our providers’ practices and our configuration.
Location of processing
We are based in Canada. Some subprocessors may process or route data in the United States or other countries where privacy laws differ from those in your province or territory. Where required, we take steps that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the risk of harm.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions. You may also have the right to lodge a concern with a privacy regulator. In Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada oversees federal private‑sector privacy law; provincial regulators may apply instead in some provinces.
To exercise rights or ask questions, email info@wirleng.ca. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks involved. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults seeking engineering services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 through the site. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes may be highlighted on the website or communicated where appropriate.
This policy is provided in plain language to describe current practices. It does not create contractual rights beyond what applicable law provides, and it is not a substitute for independent legal advice.
